At Monster Play, we care deeply about young people and the environment.

We understand the connection between caring for children in the present and preserving the environment for their future – the world they play in today will be theirs to inherit tomorrow.

As the UK's eco-friendly playground experts, we are proud to offer products that are developed using proven green materials. Our significant use of recycled, recyclable and renewable materials gives you a responsible choice of play equipment – and our catalogue is consistently friendly to both children and the environment.

What makes Monster Play eco-friendly?

We use recycled materials

  • The structural system of our BigToys range contains one of the highest percentages of recycled content available in playground equipment today

  • Steel uprights contain 78% recycled material on average, and we use 100% high-density polyethylene plastic in our platforms, roofs and enclosures - helping to keep over 1.5 million plastic milk bottles out of landfills every year.

  • When a BigToy reaches the end of its long life we'll take it back and recycle it.

We use safe wood conditioners

  • Our wood structures are conditioned with copper azole (a waterbased preservative), which prevents fungal decay and insect attack. This process provides lasting durability, releases no air pollutants or wastewater and uses recycled materials.

  • The wood conditioner in our products contains no heavy metals, is arsenate free and won't leach out, stain or pollute.

  • We use wood that is responsibly sourced in our playgrounds.

We don't cut corners

  • The longer a playground lasts, the lower the environmental impact – we prime all metal parts and use solid recycled plastics.

  • PVC softeners often leak into the environment – we eliminate PVC from all of our playground equipment.

  • We require no on-site water treatment or processing - and we recycle nearly 100% of our minimal production waste.

  • Our packaging is 100% recyclable

  • Our brochures are available online to minimise paper wastage – and what we do print is on locally produced, 100% recycled paper that is certified as responsibly sourced
